You have to be a little odd to rip out the tomatoes and squashes in your garden to make room for specialty cut flowers. You have to be a bit unusual to like sinking your hands in fresh potting soil or shoveling compost on your weekends. And you have to be straight up crazy-sauce to start a Utah flower farm as a stay-at-home mom.
Here on Save the Bees Flower Co. I’ve gathered a community of Utah florists, garden enthusiasts and flower farmers large and small. Our online floriculture community is the BEST garden club ever and we believe in finding joy through creativity.
On this website you will find numerous articles on growing cut flowers, fun workshop opportunities and seasonal blooms for sale.
I have sold at the Provo Farmers Market in the past, but found it was a hard time commitment for my little family. I now focus on teaching classes at Thanksgiving Point and offering seasonal blooms through a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program (pickup location at the Lehi Bakery or option to deliver in Lehi area). When I have extra blooms, I also post “Fresh Flower Alerts” on my Instagram page.
